About Rethinking HR

Rethinking HR, LLC is an independent consultancy founded in 2018 by Lisa E. Parra, PHR. Working remotely with clients nationwide, the firm helps organizations get more out of their HR and payroll technology by pairing deep system knowledge with more than 20 years of real-world HR experience.

Lisa’s work spans HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Security across a range of platforms, including Workday, ADP, Dayforce, Oracle Taleo, TriNet, and BambooHR. She focuses on configuration, reporting, and client enablement, and builds solutions that answer the questions leaders actually ask, whatever system the data lives in.

Industries supported

Lisa has supported organizations across a wide range of industries, each with its own workforce, compliance, and reporting needs:

  • Healthcare
  • Information technology
  • Cybersecurity
  • Construction
  • Government contracting
  • Manufacturing
  • Civil engineering
  • Telecommunications
  • Nonprofit
  • Restaurant and hospitality

Organizations of every size

Clients range from growing businesses with 25 employees to organizations with more than 4,000. Smaller companies get hands-on help setting up systems and processes that will scale with them. Mid-sized and larger organizations get the depth to untangle complex configurations, reporting, and security across multiple departments and locations. Every engagement is sized to fit, so you get the support you need without paying for what you don’t.

What clients can expect

  • Platform flexibility. Support that meets you on the system you already have, or helps you move to the one you need.
  • Clear documentation. Configurations and reports are documented so your team understands how things work and can maintain them.
  • Practical recommendations. Advice grounded in your workforce, budget, and goals, looking ahead one, three, and five years.
  • HR and technology in one conversation. No translating between an HR expert and a systems expert; you get both.
